Name: Jeff Leas
My car:
1957 T1 A Super Coupe/1960 T5 Normal Coupe.
Tip-off that a 356 was the car for me:
I have admired these cars since I was in high school in the 60's.
My age when I acquired my first 356:
57.
Engine type:
1957-Super Vic Skirmants-built engine with a big bore kit.
1960-Normal numbers-matching engine.
Miles driven per year:
Between the two cars, 3,000 miles, but I am trying to improve on that
number.
Favorite destination:
Any curvy, twisty, hilly country road.
Fantasy road trip:
I would like to drive the length of California Highway 1 in a 356.
Most inconvenient mechanical failure:
Discovered a gas leak at the Geneva Concours and had a scary ride
home.
Car I'd have if I couldn't have a 356:
Topping the list would be a Porsche Cayman.
What I like most about my car:
I like the speed of the Super Coupe and I like the smoothness of the
Normal Coupe.
Most unique feature:
H4 headlights and the headlight switch relay kit.
Most recent repair:
Tom Funk and I recreated the openings and installed the overrider
bumper bars on the A Coupe.
Longest drive so far:
2007 East Coast Holiday to Boyne Highlands, Michigan.
Next project with this car:
Fix some sheet metal on the underside of the A Coupe.
