How long have you been a 356 owner?

Off and on for about 40 years.  Presently I have owned my 1960 B Sunroof Coupe 356 for 10 years.  It is very special since it was my father who purchased it in 1968.

What motivated you to get a 356?

It is a family thing.  All my uncles and dad had 356's.  My first one was a 1964 C coupe when I was 21.

What is the greatest pleasure you get out of being a 356 supporter?

The other 356 owners.  They are a great group of gentlemen and fun to be with.  It is fun sharing our love of these great cars.

Any other cars?

A 1960 356 coupe and a 1974 911 Carrera Targa.

Does your family tolerate your fanaticism for the 356's?

Deanna enjoys the friendship of the other women in the 356 club and the social activities we have.  Our son Bobby has not joined in with my love of the cars.  He is slowly coming around as he finishes his education.

Originally from the Midwest?

I was raised in California where my car habit started.  I have been in the Chicago area for 30 years now.

What kind of professional work/job do you do?

I work in the Healthcare business.  We market dental x-ray products to dental distributers.  I have worked in Healthcare all my adult life.  (Bob is also a former Marine)

Other hobbies/passions?

I enjoy judging at Concours events around the country.  I also enjoy watching automobile races at the major race tracks starting at about age 14.

If you could have any car/any marque what would it be?

I have so many cars that I would like,  I am not sure I could pick just one.  I would like to own any Delahaye, Bugatti new and old, 1937 Supercharged Cord, Porsche 904, Porsche 1974 RSR, and Porsche 917-10.  That’s just a start of my want list.

Note: Bob is very modest when he mentions Concours judging.  He has been a judge at Amelia Island, Rennsport, Pebble Beach, Road America, Alfa Romeo, PCA Parades, Barrington and Geneva as well as being on the selection committee of many of these.
