Germany Trip 2007 - Berchtesgaden

Return to Germany trip main page.

The town of Berchtesgaden and the village up in the mountains called Obersalzberg was the mountain retreat for Hitler and many of his general staff.  The actual Eagle's Nest was closed due to fog but we did tour the tunnels that connected all of the warlords' homes and also served as bomb shelters and backup living and operations centers.
